This experienced attorney will work with a team that provides legal advice and transactional support to the business units that bring Uncarrier services to customers. The position will support IT and engineering clients that build and maintain the infrastructure that power T-Mobile’s awesome service - from wireless to video and home entertainment. The role will also support the development of innovative products and services like IoT and future services like 5G. The attorney will have opportunities to work on a wide range of projects, including handsets and other devices, on-device products and services and other strategic initiatives at T-Mobile. Work will involve negotiating contracts, developing legal strategies to navigate novel issues, and working side-by-side with business clients to bring change to a broken industry! The attorney will be part of a team that supports a wide range of business units, including information technology (IT or DTD), engineering, handsets and equipment, logistics, corporate strategy and product management.
Key responsibilities include:
Drafting and negotiating a wide range of technology focused agreements such as development agreements, hardware manufacture and supply agreements, services agreements (including managed services, outsourcing, software as a service, and infrastructure as a service), software/technology licenses, and contracts with wireless product and services vendors; handling operational matters; dispute resolution; general legal advice and creative problem solving.
Requirements include a U.S. law degree and minimum 10+ years of experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial transactions. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of technology and digital commerce law, privacy law and intellectual property, as well as a demonstrated ability to recognize and weigh business and legal risks, think strategically and advance practical solutions. Customer oriented interpersonal skills, excellent business judgment, and a proven ability to excel working with multiple clients in a fast paced environment are also required. Candidate must be detail-oriented and have the aptitude for, and a strong motivation to obtain, a deep and broad knowledge of wireless products and services. Experience working in-house combined with prior law firm experience is desired.
