Subcontract Administrator


Independent worker

Can work with minimal supervision required

Responsible for preparation and administration of subcontracts, task orders, consulting agreements and subsequent amendments

Tasks include the review and participate in negotiation of terms and conditions, analyses of price and creation of the subcontract document

Participates in teaming agreement and strategic marketing alliance negotiations with outside sources

Reviews client solicitations received by company and provides recommendations regarding outsourcing requirements to business management proposal team

Responsible for monitoring subcontractor's performance, management of the deliverables, and payment of invoices

Keeps fully informed on all subcontracts standards, plans and policies

Prepares and supports subcontract negotiations

Ensures that the subcontract is in accordance with legal requirements, customer specifications and government regulations

Monitors subcontract performance for conformance to requirements to protect the interest of the company

Prepares and disseminates information regarding subcontract status, compliance, modification, deviation, negotiation and termination

Responsible for higher complexity tasks with minimal oversight from senior level staff.


Requires comprehensive knowledge of government subcontracting, understanding of FAR Requirements and applicable experience, as well as the ability to perform non routine job requirements within the scope of the position

Requires advanced knowledge of business principles such as procurement, business and contract law, finance and accounting

Regularly interacts with other Procurement staff and functional peer groups such as Contracts, Finance, Business Development, suppliers and internal clients. Represents procurement in interactions with senior management on a variety of subcontracting matters. Requires strong oral and written communication skills

Works on assignments that are of high complexity where analysis of routine and non-routine data is required

Exercises a high degree of independent judgment in selecting methods and techniques for developing solutions

Requires a significant degree of analytical ability to understand and interpret complex data and solve complex problems

Detail oriented and organized; able to read and interpret analysis, subcontracts, task orders and other documents and ensure accuracy. May review the work of others and be able to detect errors or needed modifications

Education: BA/BS in business or related field or equivalent 3-7 yrs. exp.
