Profile

Seeking a motivated self-starter who can work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment. The Senior Contracts Negotiator will report to the Director of Government Contracts and will be responsible for contractual support to the Military Sector’s Contractor Logistic Support program(s).

Responsibilities:

> Provide cradle-to-grave contract administration support for various US Government contract types including RFP/contract scope analysis, hands-on contract requirements development including terms and conditions, coordination of appropriate internal reviews, contract negotiation, and contract/task order administration and execution

> Analyzes contract requirements, special provisions, terms and conditions to ensure compliance with appropriate laws, regulations, corporate policies and business unit procedure with high focus on subcontract management

> Drafts and negotiates contractual instruments commensurate with skills and grade level

> Communicates contract policy and practice to internal business teams

> Ensures contract review, approval and execution in accordance with corporate and/or business unit guidelines

> Prepares and administers routine correspondence, negotiation memoranda, and contract documentation to ensure timely and coordinated submittal

> Prepares, organizes and maintains contract records and files documenting contract performance and compliance

> Participates in contract disputes and business unit contracting trends

> Supports contract audits

> Direct experience related to proposal preparation, contract negotiations, contract administration and government regulations

> Monitors contracts performance and performs contract closeout activities

> Assists mid- to high-level contract professionals in working with internal or external business teams on issues and developments relative to assigned contracts.

Position Requirements

Skills/Abilities:

> Possess a strong working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) and Host Nation laws

> Possess a strong working knowledge of Pre-Award, Post Award and Closeout Contracting Concepts and adept at handling/implementing constructive contract changes / modifications

> Ability to understand contract requirements and manage these requirements in accordance with applicable directives and procedures to meet program goals

> Ability to work effectively under changing deadlines and priorities

> Ability to draft moderate contractual instruments, which are at times non-routine in accordance with prescribed templates and guidelines

> Ability to quantify an issue/situation and then become actively involved in developing an action plan to achieve a successful result and covering all aspects of the given situation

> Capable of guiding team through contractual matters using contracting experience and established processes with limited oversight

> Ability to manage and liaise with Government Agency Audits; e.g. Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA); Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA)

> Strong analytical and communication skills

> Use of independent judgment and creativity applied to resolution of contract issues

> Excellent internal and external negotiation skills

> Ability to travel domestically and internationally, as needed (estimated 30% travel requirement)

> Ability to obtain and maintain a US Secret Security Clearance

> Must be authorized to work in the US.

Desirable Qualifications:

> Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline and minimum seven (7) years of contracts experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience are preferred.

> Experience working with Collective Bargaining Agreement/Represented Workforce experience is desired

> Prefer candidate with prior contract administration with aviation maintenance type contracts.
