Profile

Overview
The Associate Asset Manager is responsible for the financial tracking, contract management, forecasting, reporting, optimization, compliance and performance improvement of renewable energy assets.  The candidate will monitor assigned utility scale and distributed generation solar, wind and battery projects across the portfolio to ensure optimal generation performance and ensure accurate reporting of generation to all necessary parties. The candidate will be responsible for driving the profitability of the assets through close collaboration with Con Edison's Operations, Engineering, Accounting, Trading, Development, IT and related groups.  The Associate Asset Manager will ensure the output of assets are in line with forecasts , project proformas are accurate, and all contractual obligations are fulfilled.  The Associate Asset Manager will develop, implement and manage long term optimization strategies as well as perform analysis of system efficiency to identify opportunities for improved performance.
Responsibilities
Financial Oversight \u2013 Participate in the budgeting, forecasting, and analysis of individual assets and the department at large.  Drive long-term profitability and risk minimization.
Establish relationships with key project partners such as lenders, PPA provider, land owners, management committee members, local civic groups, etc.
Proactively lead management of contracts and ensure all contractual obligations with respect to the project portfolio are met, including but not limited to: project financing, power purchase agreements, land lease, property tax matters, warranty claims, insurance management, interconnection agreement, etc.
Review project operating reports and documents to ensure production targets are met, as well as compliance with all regulatory requirements. Manage reporting cycle to ensure timely, accurate reporting of financial, operational and contractual obligations.
Project Development Support \u2013 Perform ad hoc analysis as required to support Asset Management and Project Development teams.  Review contracts.
Technical Expertise \u2013 Stay informed of accounting rules and valuation techniques relevant to renewable assets.  Keep abreast of industry trends, marketplace changes and regulatory rules.  Fully utilize monitoring system functionality.  Evaluate asset optimization opportunities for performance improvements.
Qualifications
Education:

Bachelor\u2019s degree with business administration, engineering, math or finance focus required.
Master\u2019s Degree preferred

Experience:

5-7 years experience in a related energy field preferred.
Experience in contract management related to energy facilities preferred.
Demonstrated experience in building strategic relationships with internal and external project partners and stakeholders.
Budgeting, forecasting, energy industry research, and team building are highly desirable.

Knowledge of energy cost components and revenue drivers
Knowledge of renewable energy policies and regulations.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel; strong working knowledge of all MS Office programs
Knowledge of solar / wind equipment and technologies
Ability to understand and interpret contracts
Ability to multitask various projects with tight deadlines
Ability to work as part of a team. Strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage customer relationships.
OSI Pi knowledge highly desired
20% travel nationwide
