PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
Responsible for leading/directing an organization of professionals who manage approximately $300M-$400M in annual contractor spends who execute Construction and Maintenance projects/programs, manage contractor interface and performance of contractor field construction work force made up of over 200 Overhead, Underground and Substation disciplines. Set the vision and strategy for the group and lead the development and execution of the business plan. Be responsible for the establishment and maintenance of Alliance Relationships with key services contractors (e.g., construction and engineering contractors of choice). Lead the development and implementation of strategic initiatives to improve processes and extract value from outsourced work. Lead the implementation and standardization of work practices and processes across the company. Engage with senior line management and Project Management to ensure alignment of goals, objectives and initiatives and then lead own organization in the attainment of these goals. Collaborate with Alliance partners to identify opportunities to improve the way the company does business with the contractor community and drive measurable results. PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Â· Provide leadership and development of the Project and Contract Management group. Lead the development and management of strategic relationships with major construction and maintenance contractors and manage and measure contractor performance.
Â· Cultivate effective working relationships with senior management, Project Management managers and Alliance company senior executives to effect change, align interests and drive results.
Â· Lead in the development of the business plan, goals and objectives for the group and drive performance consistent with the plan while ensuring the highest level of customer service, contractor safety, productivity, and quality workmanship.
Â· Develop and maintain an environment that fosters a high-performance culture and learning organization.
POSITION SPECIFICATIONS / QUALIFICATIONS
Â· Bachelorâ€™s Degree â€“Engineering or Engineering Technical
Â· Minimum of 12 years of Construction Management, Project Management, Contractor Management, Transmission & Substation or equivalent experience.
Â· Minimum of 5 years as a Supervisor or Manager
Â· Demonstrated customer focus, business and financial acumen needed to create economic value
Â· Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of category and contractor management
Â· Demonstrated ability to develop and implement process and performance improvements
Â· Strong relationship management skills and experience communicating to senior management
Â· Proven management skills
Â· Demonstrated ability to build trust and foster change
Â· MS in Engineering / MBA
Â· Working knowledge of EPC & PMOC as a project management strategy.
Â· Demonstrated ability to gain consensus and effect change across departments
Â· Proven ability to develop talent and facilitate business literacy
