Job Summary The position is responsible for managing GN\u2019s contract manufacturer supply base, ensuring systems and controls are in place to sufficiently meet our external processing demands. This includes managing the relationship with our contracted suppliers, measuring and tracking KPIs, and holding regular performance reviews with our key partners. As part of the wider Supply Chain Planning team, this role is responsible for aligning external processing capabilities with our projected requirements, leveraging the Planning COE to understand and support future capacity needs. Essential Functions As required, travel to contract manufacturing facilities to facilitate or coordinate audits, process or performance meetings, etc. Identify the contract manufacturer to use for new or existing products based on total value: cost, capabilities and service.\u00a0 Leverage our functional COEs to source & qualify new contract manufacturers, ensuring requirements are in place for a smooth transition. Ensure overall contract manufacturing capabilities are maintained, tracked, and aligned to current and future business needs. Manage overall\u00a0relationship with contracted suppliers. Troubleshoot production or process issues at contracted suppliers. Leveraging our internal COE functions, drive non-compliance issues to resolution (e.g. quality, functionality, packaging, etc.), developing clear actions focused on issue prevention. Develop and maintain scorecards for each contract manufacturer (e.g. volume, quality, waste, cost, service, responsiveness). Measure\/manage all suppliers through agreed scorecard process Develop costing analysis and supply all required information to finance as required. Ensure all processes handled by the contract manufacturers align to Glanbia internal procedures and expectations (e.g. warehouse, shipping, etc.). Support NPD and other COEs (e.g. Tech Services, QA) by working as a key liaison with our contract manufacturers for activities such as trial coordination, pricing discussion\/analysis, specification and capability alignment with each facility, etc. Participate in conference calls and meetings as required. Where deemed appropriate, incorporate selected internal processes within the same scope of supplier management (e.g. internal specialties operations that align to co-man operations for benchmarking). Develop platforms to remain integrated with the Planning team, with full consideration to future processing needs. Additional Functions Presentations in conference calls, small meetings and large division meetings. Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and\/or Human Resources. Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals. Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge\/skill. Attend trade shows and use the learnings to improve job performance. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Must possess a degree in a related field of study, or more than 6 years related experience and\/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to apply principles of logical thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Must be able to prioritize, organize, and delegate assignments. Must possess a logical approach and be capable of detailed cost analyses & business planning. Must have excellent presentation skills and the ability to interact with a wide variety of people from various cultures and backgrounds. Must be self directed and have excellent follow-up capabilities Must be detail oriented and organized. Must have excellent written and speaking skills Must be able to lead an effective meeting with senior level manager. Should have a background in food products and food manufacturing Typical Physical Activity Physical Demands Regularly involves talking or listening, sitting, and the use of hands and fingers to handle or feel. Also requires an ability to taste or smell to distinguish various spectrums of flavor, texture, or odor. Occasionally involves standing, walking, reaching with hands and arms, crouching, stooping, kneeling and climbing or balancing. Physical Requirements Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. Manual dexterity sufficient to reach\/handle items, works with the fingers. Involves light physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities of a primarily administrative nature. Typical Environmental Conditions May be exposed to moderate noise levels (i.e. office equipment, light traffic, factory equipment). May occasionally be exposed to fumes and toxic chemicals. May work in areas with mechanical moving parts. Travel Requirements Overnight travel (up to 40%) by land and\/or air.
