The Senior Network Contract Manager
develops the provider network (hospitals, health systems, physicians, and ancillary providers) yielding a geographically competitive, broad access, stable network that achieves objectives for unit cost performance and trend management, and produces an affordable and predictable product for customers and business partners. Senior Network Contract Managers evaluate and negotiate contracts in compliance with company contract templates, reimbursement structure standards, and other key process controls. Responsibilities also include establishing and maintaining strong business relationships with hospital and health system providers, and ensuring the network composition includes an appropriate distribution of provider specialties.
Negotiate and implement hospital and health system contracts
Develop and maintain excellent relationships with hospital and health system providers
Prepare and manage all contract documents for assigned providers
Create and deliver effective provider-specific proposals, presentations, and correspondence
Solve complex problems and develop innovative solutions
Participate in the development and execution of regional network strategy with local UHN team
Monitor and analyze financial and quality metrics to assess network performance
Work effectively with cross-functional teams, may lead teams or projects
Motivate and inspire other team members
Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
3 years of experience with provider contracting, including negotiations
Intermediate level of knowledge of Medicare and Commercial reimbursement methodologies
5 years of experience in a network management-related role handling complex network providers with accountability for business results
5 years of experience in the health care industry
2 years of experience utilizing financial data in making rate decisions
Knowledge of Value Based payment models such as ACO and Risk Based Payment Models
Previous experience with facility and/or complex health systems
Strong customer service skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to speak clearly and concisely, conveying complex or technical information in a manner that others can understand, as well as ability to understand and interpret complex information form others, including but not limited to reimbursement policy standards
Strong interpersonal skills, establishing rapport and working well with others
