Summary:

The Senior Contract Manager functions as a direct line negotiator between Investigators, and collaborators and BMS. They will interact primarily with BMS legal and other internal stakeholders to ensure that BMS' legal and financial positions are implemented in our Investigator Sponsored Research (ISR) and supporting agreements. The Contracts and Grants Associate will also support in negotiating other agreements as needed, to support CTCG under the direction of the Associate Director

Responsibilities:

Execution of Investigator Sponsored Research Agreements with Investigators and Institutions within the region

Negotiate contract terms and conditions with sites/investigators/institutions

Develop and maintain template negotiation and decision history for ISR agreements including utilizing many levels of associated fall back language as provided by BMS Legal

Assure that contractual terms and provisions comply with corporate processes, guidelines, and policies.

Escalate to appropriate BMS colleague when significant legal risk is identified

Support the budget analysis as received from sites and conduct Fair Market Value (FMV) analysis.

Ensure contracting compliance and appropriate prioritization and execution with the ISR/NRDG Book of Work

Strong project management skills, highly inquisitive, externally-focused, creative problem- solver. Ability to establish key relationships and work effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders, including GECI and OAR sites and all collaboration agreements.

Ensure proper filing and status reporting of all agreements within approved company systems

Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) and 5 years direct contracting experience, preferably within the Pharmaceutical industry; or Master's degree or J.D. and 3 years contract experience.

At Least 5 Years of an in depth working knowledge of contracting process and associated policies, procedures, business practices and systems.

Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with a strong customer focus.

Highly skilled in conflict resolution with the ability to resolve problems independently.

Ability to multi-task within and across projects, prioritize and manage timelines effectively.

Ability to sustain high levels of performance in a constantly changing environment.

Innovative, proactive, and motivated, with a focus on continuous improvement and a strong desire to succeed.

Ability to think strategically and implement contract simplification.

Excellent oral and written communication skills and project management skills needed to effectively convey information.

Demonstrates a high level of adaptability in dealing with ambiguous and complex work environment and balances multiples demands on role in a responsive and professional manner.
