Provide assistance drafting reinsurance and retrocessional contracts, and provide support in the collection and analysis of information related to same.
Director, Reinsurance Contracts
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage and maintain all reinsurance/retrocessional contract documentation and related materials in both electronic and paper filing systems
Develop and draft new assumed and ceded reinsurance contracts, trust agreements and attending documentation and related correspondence
Review and analyze assumed and ceded contracts and related documentation (including trusts and broker arrangements).
Negotiate and resolve wording issues arising under such contracts and documentation
Assemble and issue reinsurance contract documents for execution and track status of each document (execution, coordination with other parties, etc.)
Monitor statutory positions, regulatory guidelines and judicial decrees affecting reinsurance contract wording
Review, analyze and properly catalogue broker market retrocessional contracts and related documents
Maintain contract library for internal and external clients
Perform other related duties as assigned
EDUCATION OR TRAINING REQUIRED:
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Significant experience with insurance or reinsurance or Doctor of Jurisprudence with license to practice in Illinois.
Excellent writing and editorial skills.
Strong communication skills.
