Contract Administrator Jobs

Contract administrator jobs involve evaluating and interpreting primary contracts, sub contracts, and supply conditions and obligations and advising project teams on liabilities and risks under the contractual arrangement. Managing and securing project interests with necessary bonds, warrantees, insurances, undertakings, etc. until the final discharge of obligations is also necessary. Contract administrators are required to detect variations and changes to the contract in cooperation with the quantity surveyor and prepare, demonstrate, negotiate, and follow up on final accounts, variations, and claims until settlement. A contract administrator should develop and manage contractual issues related to time and cost implications for all contractual arrangements. A contract administrator reviews all contractor bid packages and proposals to ensure that the client is obtaining the best value. Contract administrators prepare a comprehensive filing system to suit contract requirements and maintain all project records. Contract administrators also measure, monitor, and evaluate the performance of the project with respect to financial and commercial issues and facilitate any follow up.

Contract administrator positions require a graduate degree in engineering, preferably with MBA/PGDBM designation, as well as experience of at least five years, out of which one year should include assisting a contracts administrator in contract preparation. Contract administrators should have strong work ethic and be able to meet deadlines and put in the time necessary to get the job done. Good attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies and organization/time management skills are required. Contract administrators must be self starters, with the ability to work well under pressure, perform multiple duties, and meet deadlines.
